Types of FSSAI Registration/Licenses The type of FSSAI registration or license depends on the business turnover and production capacity:

FSSAI Registration (Basic)

• Required for small food businesses with an annual turnover of up to Rs. 12 lakh
• Covers petty food manufacturers, small retailers, hawkers, and cottage industries
• Issued by the State Licensing Authority with a 14-digit registration number

FSSAI State License

• Required for medium-sized food businesses with an annual turnover between Rs. 12 lakh and Rs. 20 crore
• Applicable to processors, manufacturers, traders, and transporters
• Issued by the State Government

  FSSAI Central License

• Required for large-scale businesses with an annual turnover above Rs. 20 crore
• Applicable to businesses engaged in food processing, manufacturing, export, and import
• Issued by the Central Government
